3 oz. sugar

12 oz. water

2 oz. dark rum

seeds of

1 vanilla bean

1 tbsp. vanilla extract

2 tsp. arrowroot

1 tbsp. water

Combine first 5 ingredients; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer for 1 minute. Combine arrowroot and water; stir into rum mixture. Heat to boiling; remove from heat. Let cool.
