Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

2 eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup shortening
2 cups pumpkin
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
12 ounces chocolate chips

Mix together eggs, sugar, shortening and pumpkin until creamy. Mix together dry ingredients and add to creamy mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by large spoonsful onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
